Week 2

Great news! Not only have we got our first sighting of Annie the tree, but she has a friend! We, okay mostly me, are going though the process of picking a name, but have thought it best to wait for a bit to get a good feeling for him and what name fits best. I think we've found a good window spot in the living room for these two, and the extra week of them sitting by a watchful picture really paid off. They've also seemed to have taken a shine to the local Hard Rock station and mineral rich city water. I'm attributing this to the hard times they had to fight through in the early stages of life. (Insert abandonment joke here).

Unfortunately the same progress cannot be said for the once mighty Talweed. After seeing some huge growth in the first week and a half Talweed seems to be fading. He's having trouble standing tall and still has not shown any needle growth. It may be that what is working so well for Annie and friend is not what's best for Talweed. I've taking to extra nurturing and care, but not even extra walks in the house bedtime stories of The Giving Tree have seemed to rase his spirits much. I wonder if the easy going suburban life has anything to do with this, or maybe jeolousy of Annie's friend while Talweed is alone in his pot. For now I'm thinking about separating the two pots and giving the ailing Talweed some Classical music to listen to while I'm at work, there's not much I can do about the water situation though. Perhaps putting his energy into taunting the cat and reading instead of growing wasn't the best idea.

May the coming week show improvement. We're all routing for you Talweed.
